The City - Freemark Abbey Spring Mountain Red Wine

The Warriors’ iconic “The City” logo made its debut on the team’s jerseys in 1966, as an effort localize the newly transplanted team.  Today the symbol carries a strong legacy and is a source of pride for the Bay Area.  During this time, Freemark Abbey winery, was under new ownership which honed its signature style of winemaking, strengthening the winery as a fixture in the Napa Valley.  We pay tribute to their respective histories with this limited release traditional Bordeaux-style wine: a collection of mountain fruit handpicked from Napa Valley’s venerable Spring Mountain.

Winemaker:  Ted Edwards

Tasting Notes:  Ruby red in color, this blend of varietals express rich dark fruit aromas  - dark cherry, boysenberry, Santa Rosa plum, Bay leaf and dried herbs.  There is a milk chocolate nuance with integrated spicy oak.   The depth of fruit coupled with the richness of flavor, provides a profile that delivers from initial sip, one that continues on the palate for a very long finish.  This is a special wine.
